A few weeks ago during a quick trip to NYC to celebrate my Sister-In-Law's birthday, my little sister and I spent the day visiting all of our favorite haunts. As I was walking through the city I started noticing a trend. Everyone (including my sister and I) had white sneakers on their feet. It didn't matter if they were in a suit, a floral dress, or jeans and a t-shirt, nor did it matter that it was raining most of the day, almost every single woman that we saw was wearing a great pair of white kicks. I'm now convinced that if there a "trend" for this coming summer, you better bet it's going to be the white sneaker.
Unlike most trends, this is one that I am very happy to jump on and that's probably because I have been wearing my trusty pair of Veja's every day since they arrived in the mail last month. Not only is the white sneaker a comfortable and stylish choice, it's one that feels very in-line with the feminist awaking that is happening across the world. The boys have been wearing sneakers for years while we have been teetering in heels, and just like the freeing of the nipple, comfortable footwear is one fashion statement that I am happy to take back!
