If there are two things that I love most in life, they would have to be any movie by Nancy Meyers and basically anything Reese Witherspoon has ever produced or acted in. Over the summer my friend sent me a trailer to the new Nancy Meyer's movie Home Again, along with this post (which is a must read for you Meyer's fans), and you know after viewing both I couldn't wait for the release date to come. I was so excited to see Witherspoon and Meyers team up and I just knew in my heart that this was going to become my new favorite movie.
As if this dream team wasn't enough, Reese's character in the movie is an inspiring interior designer so for obvious reasons I was giddy when I finally found myself in the theater this week. (Man, that was one long wait!) All I can say is that this movie did not disappoint. I had incredibly high expectations going in and they were exceeded in every way. The movie was funny, heartwarming, and well styled. I walked out with the biggest smile on my face and I'm already making plans to see it again, it was that good!
I know what you are all thinking. What about the sets that Meyers has become famous for? Did Home Again's decor live up the the hype of her previous movies? This one can be answered with three words... yes, yes, and yes!!!!! Just take a look at the magic that Meyers has again created.
I feel like I should give you all a few minutes so you can go through all those again! Anyone need a tissue?
As far as I'm concerned the interiors in this movie absolutely topped every one of Meyer's previous sets. Yes, it's a bold statement but I'm saying it. I felt like my heart was going to stop every time Reese walked into a room and it seemed like each one was better than the last. If I were able to start completely from scratch, this is the look I would absolutely want in my home and given the bohemian influence, you know my jaw was on the floor every single minute. If you are a fan of Meyers or Witherspoon, or are at all interested in interior design (which I'm guessing most of you who read this blog are) you HAVE to go see this movie! Pictures really can't even do this house justice so you will just have to trust me on this one- see the movie!!!!
I'm sure once you leave the theater, you too are going to want to makeover your entire home so I've rounded up a few pieces to help you get the look. Not all of us will get to live in an incredible, inherited Spanish style home (which actually used to be Cindy Crawford's!) but we can all bring a little of Meyer's vision into our own spaces. I've been feeling pretty down about the state of the wold these days and I can't tell you how mood lifting it was to see this movie. This is escapism at it's finest and I really can't wait to see the flick again! Xx
