We blinked and somehow we only have eight more days to go in this beautiful country. A few years ago the idea of five weeks down here seemed so daunting, and now we can't imagine anything less. I don't know if it's the house, or if it's just the fact that the boys are older, but these trips have become something that we can't get enough of us and there isn't one of us who has any desire to leave. Sadly, life awaits.
So, what have we been doing? Really it's been a lot of the same. Surfing, eating, napping, reading, rinse and repeat. Our trip to the volcano was wildly successful (and rain free) and when we arrived the sun was out and it has been that way ever since. (Note to self: don't be afraid of spur of the moment trips with the kids- they can handle it!) Since we've been back we have been spending a ton of time in the water and now even little Gray is surfing. Dare I say he may even be as good as his brother was at this age? He's now obsessed with skateboarding and surfing (something he showed very little interest in prior to this trip) and again we are reminded that you can never count that kid out, he just needs to do things at his own pace.
As far as the house goes, my work is pretty much done. I met with the local designer who is going to get all of my furniture from Bali and we are completely on the same page. She took me to her home to see some of the items she can get and it was pretty much my dream space. Needless to say I am now convinced that I am in very good hands. This week I also met with our architect and nailed down everything. Every finish, every light, every inch of tile... all of it. Now they just have to work it all up and then it's time to bid. I'm trying not to think about it too much because I'm afraid the excitement alone is going to kill me. I can now see and feel what this house is going to look like and at this point I cannot wait to get started.
... and that's life as we know it. I'll do some more updates on the decisions we've been making with the house but other than that, there is very little to report. For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you may have seen some of these pictures, but for the rest of you here is a little glimpse of what the last few weeks have been like. One day really blends into the other and when you are this happy, and we wouldn't want it any other way!
Fot those of you in the states, I hope you had a great 4th and hopefully some time away from it all. According to my feeds, a great time was had by everyone! Xx
