Over the weekend, I was mindlessly scrolling through my Instagram feed when I was stopped in my tracks by a post from one of my favorite brands Figue, that was captioned, "shop our latest Janis Joplin inspired collection." Obviously, (and for reasons you are about to see) I immediately followed the link and I may or may not have let out a little yelp when I saw the Fall 2017 offerings in their entirety. What can I say, I truly, (madly, deeply) love this collection.
Actually, it turns out that this collection is visual representation of who I want to be in my forties and of course, I want everything. Like everything. Sadly, Figue's clothes don't come cheap (and for good reason, these are not low quality goods) so I really limited myself but I had to write a post just to show you all what an incredible collection this is. I feel like my style is very bohemian in the warmer months, but I've always had difficulty translating that to the cooler ones. The gypset look is EXACTLY what I've been dreaming of and if I could trade in my existing wardrobe in its entirety, undoubtably this is what would replace it.
Below you can see a few of my favorite outfits from the Fall 2017 lookbook and my picks from the collection. Those navy pants with the side slits are topping my wish list, followed very closely by those tuxedo style shirts (the gold one!!!!) I'm not sure what Janis herself would say about this look, but I'd like to think she would be a fan. If not, I'm pretty sure I love it enough for the both of us! Xx
P.S. Apparently in 40's I'm going to channel some version of Penny Lane from Almost Famous. I'm completely cool with this, just wanted to make sure we are all on the same page. ;)
