I Want To Go There: Sunny's Callicoon Pop

I Want To Go There: Sunny's Callicoon Pop

A few years ago, I stumbled on a piece in which Sunrise Ruffalo was discussing her eclectic childhood growing up in New Orleans and immediately I became convinced that she and I would be best friends if we were able to meet. She has such a cool and laid back approach to life and even though she could live some glamorous LA lifestyle (her husband is the actor Mark Ruffalo), instead she chooses to raise her three children in upstate New York. There is so much that I applaud and appreciate about the way Sunny chooses to live her life and the same could be said about her personal style; it's the perfect mix of freedom and thinking outside the box.

This is why I was THRILLED when I saw that Sunrise opened a pop up shop in her hometown of Callicoon and right now a trip to this town, two hours from downtown Manhattan in the Catskills, is topping my summer wish list. Sunny's Callicoon Pop is definitively the brainchild of Sunnny herself and the store features a mix of vintage pieces along with favorites that Sunny has discovered during her travels. In addition, there are even some pieces from her celebrity friends that are up for sale (Jenna Lyons is one!)

Open for the summer, this pop up is chalked full of one of a kind pieces and is pretty much what summer road trips / girl's weekends are made of. I have a kid free week in NYC coming up while my oldest is at camp and you know I'm going to do everything I can to try to make it to Callicoon. For those that can't make the drive, the store has it's own Instagram which posts the shop's wares and I'd suggest following it for the eye candy alone (think vintage furniture, pottery, original art, unique clothing...). If any of you have been will you please report back, I'm dying to know if it's worth the drive!

Below you can see a few images of the shop that were recently featured in Architectural Digest and Vogue and so far people are reporting that this one is worth the trip. For those of you interested in visiting yourself, Sunny’s Callicoon Pop, is currently open at 21 Lower Main St. in Callicoon, New York. Xx
