Liam, is turning 10 this sumer (!!!!) and I want to do something really special to celebrate his first decade on earth. We aren't big on buying our kids "stuff" so I figured I'd really blow his mind and take him on a surprise trip in the fall. He's been wanting to go to Paris since first grade (his teacher made learning about the city a central theme of the year) and since I haven't been in over five years, I figured it was the perfect place for us to escape for a few days. Admittedly, I was feeling uncertain after the recent events in Manchester, but after stumbling upon the perfect flight yesterday I decided that you can't live in fear and I booked our tickets!
The question of course, is what should we do?!?! I have a good friend who has taken her young children in the past and she is giving me some great recommendations, but I'd also love to hear from you! Have any of you been to Paris recently with an elementary aged boy? Do you have any suggestions on where we should stay and is there anything that we just can't miss? We will be there for four full days and will be doing the usual tourist attractions but I'd love to hear if there is something that you did with your child that you would recommend? A friend of mine mentioned that there is a big skateboard scene in Paris, so of course that's topping the list, but if you have any other suggestions please send them my way!
I'm certain that this trip will be one that both of us are going to remember for the rest of our lives and I'm just so excited, I really don't know how I'm going to keep this a secret for the next few months! For those of you who know us in "real life," mums the word. Xx
