If you are a Trump supporter you are probably not going to enjoy this post. For everyone else- welcome to your newsiest obsession. I stumbled upon these amazing sweaters in a Fast Company piece and now I want one oh so badly.
Lingua Francia is a brand founded by Rachelle Hruska who began by making beautiful cashmere sweaters with hand embroidered sayings on them such as "outlaw" or "it was all a dream" or my favorite "original gangsta." After the election, Rachelle who employs 30 immigrants began to channel her anger into her work, and she expended her brand to include sayings that were politically charged. Clearly that decision had payed off because right now these are one of the the most coveted items in the fashion industry and the company just cannot keep stock in any size or color.
The sweaters are pricey (about $400 dollars) but one half of the proceeds are go to the charity of your choice. So far Planned Parenthood and the ACLU have been the most popular organizations that have received donations. I for one love these sweaters and am thinking about putting my name on the list. If you are interested in ordering a sweater for yourself, inquiries can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. I feel like we are going to see a lot more brands heading this direction and I can not wait to see it happen. Xx
