The Women's March on Washington

The Women's March on Washington

Are any of you heading to the Women's March on Washington this weekend? I'm going with five of my closest friends and just the idea of it feels so empowering, I can't imagine what it's going to feel like when we are actually there. I've never marched in D.C. before and I feel such a strong calling to do so now and I feel very lucky that I am able to make this trip.

A lot of people are referring to this as a protest but I don't really see it that way. This is a very visible way to show those who feel left behind after the election that they are not alone, and that we will stand beside them. I absolutely believe that we are stronger together and I hope that this march just cements that point.

For those of you who can't make it to D.C. there are sister marches all around the world (hundreds of them!!!) and for those of you going you should definitely download this app. Organizers are reminding people that no backpacks are allowed and you should have only ID, a credit card, your health insurance card and minimal cash. I may bring a photocopy of my passport as well. I envision a very peace filled and beautiful day. If there is one woman we want on our side on Saturday it's Mother Nature and she seems to be supporting us with an unseasonably sunny day and spring like temperatures!

Here are a few posters from the Women's March Facebook page that really inspired me. If any of you will be in Washington and want to try to connect, feel free to email me! Xx
