If there is ONE thing that the Costa House will have in common with our primary home it's that I want to have a lot of art / photographs on the walls. As I've mentioned before I am planning on keeping the design simple, but I still want this to be a home that is filled with all of the things that we love. We will be bringing down all of our own soft goods, most likely when we fly down there and over multiple trips, and the one thing that I have been trying to figure out is what I'm going to do when it comes to framed items. Anything framed in a traditional manner will be too big / fragile to ship or carry on and honestly I'm not quite sure how to track down a framer in our small surf town (or if one even exists). Over the past few years I've been collecting quite a few vintage surf posters and I can't think of a place that I would want them more than on the walls of the Costa house.
This is why I was so excited when I stumbled upon these amazing (and affordable!) frames that are handmade by the Second Shift Design Co. Slightly larger than a hanger, these glassless frames come in three sizes and are absolutely perfect for all the art I want to hang in the Costa house. You can get a wood or a white finish and I've ordered my share in both colors. I think these are such a great alternative to traditional framing and they are perfect for places like kid's rooms, dorms, playrooms (so you can easily display your child's artwork), rental apartments, offices.. really anywhere that you want to be able to have flexibility to change out the pieces and / or don't want to commit to an expensive framing job.
I absolutely adore how simple the frames themselves are, and using these frames will make it so easy hang all the art I want in our home. The surf posters that I've collected paired with the Instagram prints that I am using in the rest of the house will give it such a personal touch and I'm not sure it would have been possible without these genius frames! Now, we can have all the art and none of the hassle. If only the rest of the house could be this easy! Xx
