The older I get, the less patience I have for uncomfortable shoes. If I've learned anything in my 37 years on this planet it's that there really is no such thing as a comfortable heel. Sure, some you can survive the day in and yes, they are a necessary evil, but if given the choice I would choose a stylish flat any day of the year over a painful heel. As I'm aging I'm also finding that my daily uniform is getting more and more monochromatic. I tend to think this means I'm dressing a little more "classic" but sometimes that can also translate as looking a little boring. You say potato, I say potato.
This is why I was a little giddy when over the summer I discovered the brand FRĒDA SALVADOR. FRĒDA SALVADOR describes their brand as an artisan line of contemporary, cutting edge, wearable footwear and really this description fits the bill perfectly. They offer a small selection of handmade shoes and each are as beautiful as they are comfortable. Last month I got a pair from their Clare Rojas capsule collection and I am obsessed. They add the perfect amount of style to any outfit and I love how they really transform my typical black / gray / white uniform from something that is, ahem, a little boring, to something that is oh so stylish. The best part is you can actually wear these shoes all day and the menswear inspired styles really can take any outfit from day to night. Strike that. The best part is you can wear these shoes from day to night and your feet won't be hating you at the end!
Below I've picked a few of my favorites from their fall collection and all I can certainly attest that the Clare Rojas ones are even more beautiful and "cool' in person than they are on the site. I love finding cool little brands like this and I can only hope that more keep popping up! Xx
