Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and interior design. Hope you have a nice stay!

I'm Back! Aka How I Spent My Summer Vacation

I'm Back! Aka How I Spent My Summer Vacation

I'm back... and only a week later than I thought I would be! (That has to be some sort of record, right? Well, for me at least!) What can I say, we have been going non-stop since I last posted, literally from coast to coast, and now we are back home and somehow there is still 9 (!!!!!!!) more days until school starts. As much as I love summer, I am very ready for the first day of school and will not miss the days (like today) where I am just "done" and the kids still want to go, go, go. (I swear, if I could find a way to bottle this energy then we all would be millionaires!)

After 12 weeks of travel I can't even begin to tell you how good it feels to be home. This week will be the first in months that I will be sleeping in my own bed for it's entirety and not to sound cliche, but truly there is no place like home. After California, we stopped at the house to drop our bags and then made a quick turnaround to visit my very best friends on the cape. Both trips were so amazing and I definitely had tears in my eyes as I was leaving each. I'll try not to overwhelm you all with family pictures but these were some of the highlights the last few weeks... aka how I spent my summer vacation.

Since we've been home I have been cleaning and de-cluttering every inch of our home (that's what living out of a suitcase for an entire season will do for you) and after living with very little  for so long I am more convinced than ever that we don't need and more "stuff." I've been able to get rid of / donate so many baby and unused items that the storage in our home is almost empty, even though it's got quite a few things for the costa house. I can't even begin to tell you how good that feels!

So, now we are just biding time until school begins. The boys spent the weekend with my sister (allowing my husband and I another bliss filled, kid-free night at home) and right now Liam is actually waterskiing with friends in New Hampshire. As much as I'm counting the days (hours / minutes) until I get some time to myself, I know that two weeks from now I'm going to be seriously mourning these carefree days of summer.

I hope you all have had a wonderful few weeks and that you too got your fill of water and sun. I plan on posting regularly going forward and the best part of having been away for so long is that I now have so many things to write about! A few of my past projects are being edited now and we have a full fall schedule shooting the rest. I really can't wait to show you all what I've been working on and I hope you will continue to pop in here and see what I'm up to! Xx
