Today is the Boston Marathon which means that it is a three day weekend for those of us in the area. It just so happened that my husband had a work trip planned at the same time so we decided to surprise the boys with a trip to somewhere they didn't even know existed; Great Wolf Lodge.
Great Wolf is essentially an indoor water park and arcade that is attached to a hotel. For a one night stay we were able to use the amenities for two days and as you can see, the boys are having a fantastic time. Like a mind-blowing, fantastic time. Since I knew little about the hotel I checked in with some friends that have been before and logged in some serious time on yelp. It seems like waiting for food with the biggest complaint, so we've basically done the opposite of what everyone else is doing and so far it's been amazing. Unlike an amusement park, everything is super contained so I don't really have to worry about the kids going in opposite directions which is definitely a welcome change. The only downside is that my wallet has gone missing but so far there are no charges on anything so <hopefully> it will turn up today. I can't tell you how much I am dreading a trip to the DMV tomorrow. Wah wah.
I'll be back to posting tomorrow, but today it's back to the watersides (err hidden jacuzzi I found in the back!!!) for the rest of the day. Hope you all have a great one! Xx
P.S. This place has EVERYTHING a kid could want and do you know what Gray's favorite part is by a landslide??? The pull out couch in the room! He saw it when we watched a promo video for the hotel and had been talking about it all week. When we got here he stared at it in amazement and has just been saying how "esscitted" he is to sleep on it since we arrived. Kids are so weird. ;)
P.P.S. My husband is staying with my parents and this photo of the two of us was unearthed from the archives. This was from when we first met (I think I was 22 here) and all I can say is OMG. First off we were total babies, I cannot believe how young we look, and second, what was up with those shorts? And on both of us??? Apparently we were saving room in case someone else wanted to hop in, they were so big!
