Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and interior design. Hope you have a nice stay!

In Harmony

We are back (in the snow!!!!) after a week at The Harmony and really all I can say is ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. We've taken a lot of vacations and stayed at some beautiful hotels, but hands down this was the most indulgent of them all. The crazy thing is that it has literally been in our backyard all along! The service, the food, the design... all top notch. I wouldn't exactly call it luxury (although it was incredibly nice)  but for our taste it was absolute perfection. We had made plans to frequent out usual haunts but really surprised ourselves in that all we wanted to do was be at the hotel because really nothing will ever beat that hotel!

We would start our day with homemade chia and coffee in bed, surf, come back for the amazing (complimentary) breakfast of smoothies and avocado toast with poached eggs (my favorite meal on earth) and then spend the rest of the day lounging by the pool. Some days we would have a few cocktails poolside, others we would nap. We'd always grab lunch in the sushi lounge and I learned that I could pretty much live on tuna poke if given the chance. Each day I'd take full advantage of the outside shower, sneaking out there at least a half a dozen times, and then we would go back to our favorite beach on earth and watch the sun set. In short, it was the perfect trip and one we are already plotting again for next year!

For those of you who don't follow me on Instagram, here are a few shots from our vacation.

The BIG news is that on the last day we actually went into escrow on a piece of land! I still can't even believe it myself! We weren't planning on buying anything until June, but after speaking with a Realtor about the low inventory was we knew we needed to act fast. (This was immediately confirmed when we went to put in an offer on the first piece I saw and it was scooped up just a few hours before!) Luckily, our team knew of a property that wasn't really on the market and by the time we were having cocktails at happy hour we were also signing on the dotted line!!!!

It may not look like much now, but this 1/3 acre is where our dream house is going to be!!!! It sits on a dead end, on a hillside above our favorite place, La Luna. It has 360 degree views of the rivermouth and the hillside, and ocean views from both sides of (what will be) the second story. Already my head is spinning and for those of you who follow me on Pinterest you know I am off to the races! Our next step it to hire an architect (which we will likely do in June) and then the fun begins. I'm still in disbelief that this is all happening and I couldn't be more excited to document for you all!

So that's it. One epic trip we will remember forever! I can't thank you all for your warm wishes about our land that you've shared on social media and I have to say I've really missed writing here! Hopefully the boys will have school tomorrow (the second snow day in a row) but either way I'll be back to posting regularly tomorrow! Make sure you check back because I'll be sharing a little update that I did in our kitchen and I can't wait to show you what a difference it has made!!!! How's that for a teaser? xx
