Artist Spotlight: Jane Denton
I discovered New Zealand based artist Jane Denton when I saw her work in the adorable nursery that Emily Henderson recently created for her daughter, and I have been a huge fan ever since. I recently used one of her pieces in a room I designed for two little girls and not only is her work flawless, but she is also a complete joy to work with!
Jane creates unique artwork by stitching cotton and wool thread onto canvas in fun patterns. From the distance her work looks like a graphic print, but when you get closer you can actually see the texture from the embroidery which instantly brings warmth to the space where it's hung. Jane's work is colorful, bright, and oh so happy! Right now I'm starting to pull together ideas for a boy's room on the cape, and I'm designing the entire room around a few of her pieces. They are that good.
Here is glimpse of Jane's work. I used the blush heart for a blush girl's room, and right now I'm loving the pieces with the blue hues for the seaside boy's room. I'm also dying to use one or two of these in a gallery wall as it would instantly give it life!
