The Day Dress

For years, the one thing I felt was really missing from my wardrobe was a single piece that I would take me from a morning event at the kids' school, to a meeting with a client, all the way to a dinner out with friends or my husband. An outfit that wasn't too short, too tight, and could be comfortably worn all day. Really, when you think about it a piece like that is something of a unicorn, don't you think?

Over the Summer, while out with my girlfriend in Beacon Hill we popped in to my favorite store Dress, and we both fell in love with this Whistles dress that really is the most beautiful and easy to wear dress that I have ever owned. I've dubbed it "the day dress," because the length and cut is day appropriate, but don't think that this won't be my go-to for a night out either. Already I've worn it to about a dozen events, and every time I get compliments on how elegant it looks. I love that I don't have to ever worry if I'm showing too much skin, and yet I don't think I've ever felt more feminine in a single piece of clothing... dare I say sexy even?

Here I paired it with my trusty clutch and favorite heels, but throughout the summer I've also been wearing it with flats and leather sandals. The day dress seems to be the one piece of clothing that pulls double duty and beyond, and I plan to wear this one as much as I can well into the next decade.
