Easy Home Update: The Round Mirror

If you are looking for an inexpensive and easy way to instantly add a little personality to ANY room in the house, look no further that the round mirror! I've been seeing round mirrors (particularly in brass) popping up in unexpected spaces like bathrooms and over the fireplace, and I absolutely love it!

The round mirror is a simple way to soften the often harsh and linear lines in spaces like bathrooms and hallways, and I think it adds so much visual interest when used in a space that would traditionally utilize a rectangular one. A while back I added a round mirror to our entry (#2 below) and it completely changed the space!

Most of the big box stores have picked up on this trend and they are offering options at very affordable prices. You can find quite a few mirrors in an oversized version, and when used in a bedroom or an entry, they can really make a statement without overwhelming the room. A mirror, by nature, reflects what is opposite it and I like using them in an area that doesn't get a lot of light or is in a neutral part of the room to bring some visual interest without making a space feel too cluttered.

I've pulled together some of my favorite inspiration images that incorporate the round mirror and my a few of my favorites below. I'm absolutely dying to switch out the mirrors in our master bath, but for now am filing the idea away for our "next house!"
