Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and interior design. Hope you have a nice stay!

My Favorite New Shelter Books!

There is nothing better than a good coffee table book and there are so many incredible ones being released this month, it's really like Christmas is coming early this year!!! Here are the shelter books (mixed with a little food and fashion) that I can't wait to tear through over the next few weeks. I really feel like I should pace myself... it's going to be a long winter and I can't think of anything better than curling up with any one of these incredible books.

Last Friday, I attended the Wayfair Home Heart Conference and had the honor of listening to the keynote speaker Maxwell Ryan, founder of Apartment Therapy and The Kitchn, discuss his journey from teacher to successful blog founder and what he sees for the future of interior design (hint the future looks bright!) All of us who attended were gifted a copy of his new book Complete + Happy Home and you guys, it's good! There is so much inspiration on every page and it's making me itch to re-do some of our own interiors ( I won't since I actually like being married to my husband ;)) but you can bet some of these ideas are going to be passed on to my clients! If you are looking for a visually stunning book, chock full of useful ideas, this is the book for you.

While not technically a shelter book, I am such a huge fan of Ruth Reichel that I absolutely plan on displaying her new cookbook My Kitchen Year in my kitchen all year long. While a departure from her traditional memoir/ cookbook style, this book is full of over 130 recipes and it really delves in to the abrupt folding of Gourmet magazine and the uncertainly that Reichel faced in her own career. I'll definitely be posting some of my favorite recipes over the next few months as I cook my way though the book.

My absolute favorite blog right now is penned by the one and only Lauren Liess and I am just dying to get my hands on her new book Habitat! The release date of October 13 cannot come soon enough! If you are unfamiliar with her work Lauren creates beautiful, mostly traditional spaces that just make you want to move in and not change a thing. Her eye is so incredible and I find myself often taking cues from her work... even if it's just for the home in my head. I'm pretty sure this is going to be THE book of the season, and I can't wait to devour every page.

For me Garance is the reigning queen of fashion and I am so excited to read her new book Love Style Life which is being released at the end of the month. The book promises to be a memoir which is told alongside her beautiful photography and illustrations. Side note: I actually ran in to her on the beach last year in Costa Rica and she was absolutely as lovely and dazzling in person as she is in her writing. She epitomizes what we all look up to as the beauty of the French and if this book is anything like her blog, you know it's going to be fantastic.

Are there any books you all are looking forward to this season? I'd love to know what I'm missing!!! xx
