Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and interior design. Hope you have a nice stay!

Black + White

Without question, the two most expensive pieces I've ever purchased for my wardrobe consist of a white tuxedo blazer that I bought before my last trip to Paris, and a pair of leather leggings that I purchased after Gray was born (and have worn 10,000 times since.) I know I'm always yammering on about only purchasing investment pieces, but some 5 years later these two items are still my favorite in my closet and if I ever were forced to limit myself to ten items (as in creating a capsule wardrobe) these pieces would absolutely make the cut.

I wear the blazer with jeans and a t-shirt on a weekly basis and pair them with the leggings for a night out. The benefit of a leather legging in a climate like ours is that you can actually stay warm while wearing them, and the fact that they are spill proof/ stretch proof/ and generally indestructible means that you really can wear them for a lifetime. Bonus: because I refuse to ever buy another pair, they sure motivate you in the gym to make sure they always fit. ;) My favorite outfit is wearing two pieces together, and here I paired them with a cashmere crew neck sweater and simple black booties. I love how the black and white clutch compliments the colors in the blazer, and gives this simple outfit a little more visual interest with the coordinating color blocking. Below you can find the sources for the look along with some more affordable options. xx
